Kid shows huh

I hate to admit that before I had Easton I would watch cartoons. Sometimes I found them funny, okay I always  I found them funny, sometimes I would tivo them because they would be on while I was at work. But now that I had Easton I actually listen, and wonder how the writers of the cartoons could possibly think some the language used would be okay for children.Take Spongebob back. I have heard the theme song a million time, I sang it(at work), and thought nothing of it. Today I listened to the words and it's so stupid. No words are inappropriate, it is just plain stupid. I know that's not a great word to use, but it's the first thing that came to my mind. Here are the lyrics:
Capt- Are you ready kids
Kids- Aye aye captain
Capt- I can't hear you
Kids- Aye aye captain
Capt- Ohhhhh
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea
spongebob squarepants
Absorbent and yellow and porous is he
spongebob squarepants
His nautical nonsense be something you wish
spongebob squarepants
So drop on the deck and flop like a fish
spongebob squarepants
spongebob squarepants
spongebob squarepants
spongebob squarepants
sponge bob squarepaaaants!
do do do do do do do
So, that is my rant about kids cartoon shows. Thanks for listening.
But then I listened to some of the things that the characters were saying, it just seems more important now that I have a child. Take for example the pharse "what the barnacles" I know there is nothing wrong with any of those words but to me  it's like says "what the f***k". How is a young child suppose to know the what is right and wrong when they are used in the same meaning.

I know that when Easton gets older that I will let him watch Spongebob because I know that it's not a horriable cartton, I just think of it a little different now.

One cartoon I will NEVER let Easton watch is called T.U.F.F dog or puppy. Im not sure. I saw the begining of it and couldn't belive that in the theme song of a children's cartoon it was talking about chewing butts. I'm not joking I took a picture of the beginging of the show

And now on a side note, I was flipping through the TV(yes, I know we watch a lot of TV, but at least when we watch it I point out things like colors, sounds, and try to make it educational) I found a new cartoon that was just the opposite of Spongbob. It was ALL educational and it was a learning cartoon. It was called Bubble Guppies. And the good thing about this cartoon Easton watched it like he knew what they were taking about. He even laughed at it. I think this will be the new show we will be watching. Too bad it's not on all the time like Spongebob.
