Nicknames
Working with children and hearing their nicknames I always wondered how the parent came up with it. And now that we have Easton he has a nickname, but I'm not even sure how we came up with it. We call him bug-a-boo....bug for short. How crazy is that? His name is short but yet, we call him Bug. If you really think about it, who calls their child Bug?!?! But these cool parents here call their child Bug and love it very much. When he grows up and asks how he got his nickname i better come up with a cool story.

Choo Choo, It's time for a haircut
You might me wondering why I picked this title for my blog. Well it's simple, because we went to get Easton's hair cut and he sat in a train chair. Let me back up just a little so you can fully understand everything. James really wanted Easton's hair to be long, I did not. But we came to an agreement that we would cut it once I couldn't stand it anymore. Well that didn't take long(about 2 months). His hair was in his eyes and he was starting to look like a girl. So we thought it would be a great time for his hair to get cut. And yes, he has gone before but this time it was for real. Not just a trim or anything like that. This was FOR REAL. So we went to Kidsnips in Danada. It was the best thing ever. When you first get there they take your name and let your child(let's be honest James and I picked it out). Then while waiting they have a cool play area. No, I don't have a picture of it. James said I could not be one of "those" parents that takes pictures of everything. So I just took TONS of Easton..hehe. So they called us and Easton got Miss Jenna. She was great. She put the movie in which was Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Then she put a special cape on him so he could be a superhero. Easton could care less about what Miss Jeanna was doing there was a TV!!! He sat so still while she was explaining what she was going to do. After a couple of minutes of cutting hair Miss Jenna had to make the chair higher and Easton loved it. He smiled then started to play with the steering wheel. At the very end they gave us a certificate saying it was Easton's first haircut along with his hair. He got a balloon which the base was a slinky. How cool is that. Then he was offered to pick from the treasure chest, but we declined that since he really did not need one more toy. Oh, and the salon is a toy store. It had hair accessories to bath toys. They have got to make soooo much money off of that. And I am sure that once Easton is old enough to understand shopping Kidsnips will be making money off of me. Oh and one last thing, they have a rewards card that when you get 9 haircuts you get the 10th free. Again, how cool!!!
Oh, there's a tv here. Great!
Umm, lady you made me turn my head and now I cant see the tv
Move, so I can watch tv !!!
Ah, there we go. Miss Jenna you stay back there and I will watch Mickey
James wiping off the hair on hos shirt
Tada, the finshed product
On the way home looking all nice

Christmas Part 2
On New Years Day we celebrated Christmas with James parents. It was really nice. We went out to breakfast and then went back to their house to open up presents. Easton received books and money for college from his Aunt and Uncle. Toys, a baseball bat with Easton on it, baseball glove, and a cool tricycle. After unwrapping the presents and trying to put them together easton thought the box would be more fun to play with. He crawled inside of it and loved it. He even let us close the top and he would pop out of it and "scare" us.

Christmas Part 1
Where to begin?!?! I guess the beginning would be good. On Christmas Eve I get a phone call from Easton's nurse telling me his test results from earlier in the week. He was sick with a runny nose and a mild cough. So they did a test for whooping cough. His doctor thought it was a sinus infection so put him on antibiotics and sent us on our way. Well, the nurse told us that the test came back positive and he was carrying whooping cough. So they sent a new prescription to the store. I gathered him up and picked it up. Well needless to say that it was x-mas eve and we celebrate with James side on that day. So due to many elderly and pregnant people others and us thought it was best if we did not share Easton's germs. And after talking it over James and I (and the dr) decided that since he was on antibiotics for over 2 weeks it would be okay to go to church. The doctor said that there is no way to treat whooping cough the antibiotics really help Easton more than anything. But weather or not any one thought it was good for us to go to church we Easton and I went and celebrated with our family and friends at church. Mass was very nice and fun. Every x-mas mass people are suppose to bring bells and help ring them during songs. Well Easton had a blast! After mass we went home and ate dinner then set out the cookies for santa and a carrot for the reindeer's.
Waking up on Christmas day was nice. We did not rush we opened up presents as a family and Easton had fun playing with his new toys. But this Christmas it was a little different, but very nice. For as long as I can remember we have always had Christmas at my parent's house or my Aunt Nancy's.But due to all of our families growing we decided to have Christmas dinner with my brother, his wife, mom, dad, James, Easton, and myself. We opened up present at my parents house. I can't believe how much easton received from cars, a chair just his size, to DVD players for both cars, it was great. Santa gave us laundry soap, toliet paper(the good kind), tupperware, razors, shaving cream, soaps, gift card, and much much more. Its amazing how he knows exactly what we needed. Good thing we didn't go shopping that week to get all those supplies..hehe. After eating we went to my aunts house to do our family tradition grab bag. It was sooo much fun. good times and funny stories. It's amazing how family can make you smile :) After all that we had dessert. And not just any dessert but a DeFyn/Zak/Hicks dessert. I'm talking about 2 cakes, 3 pies, cookies, gingerbread house, a big Mrs. Field's cookie, ice cream, and probably more that I am forgetting. Finally we went home and went straight to bed.
